Ingredients:
3 Medium Sized Onions, sliced super thin
1 Cup Fat-Free Milk
2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
4 Cups Vegetable Oil
Salt
Directions:
Place your sliced onions in a shallow dish, and pour milk over them. Make sure milk coats all onions. In a bowl, add flour. In a large pot, heat oil to medium high. With tongs, take a pile of onions and shake the excess milk off and then place in flour and coat, then shake off remaining flour, and then carefully drop into heated oil. Remove to a paper towel lined plate to drain. Sprinkle with salt immediately. Repeat process until done.

WOW...I would eat these just plain but I bet they would be great on a sammie or a burger...
You are a former Vermonter? Really?! I am your former neighbor as I life in your sister state. With all the flavors of your new home state, I never would have guessed.
Love fried onions. Goes so well with steak. Can hear my arteries creaking as I write this, LOL!
Friendly's IS good. Haven't been in ages. I shall have to revisit them.
we went to friendly's just the other day, i love that place! these look divine, i want to gobble them up!
I thought Friendlys was national - I know we have them in Cleveland. I love all your pictures as you're making your food. You make it seem so easy.
Oh boy the things you could do with these onions!! Fantastic!
I just used your recipe with filet mignon. They were delish!
Thanks so much.
OH I would follow your blog for the fronions alone. I am not sure how far Friendly's extends but in this suburb of Philly they are known for ice cream first and everything else after. I LOVE the fronions. No one else does fried onions thin enough and when you bite into them the onion is raw inside. These look perfect. Thanks! Would you consider adding the gadget for email subscription? I'd be so grateful.
