Coffee Cake

Good evening! I thought this recipe would be appropriate to share because of the much welcomed cooler weather we are experiencing here in Texas..I really don't miss those 110 degree days! I can finally sense that Fall is on it's way, and that makes me excited since it's one of my most favorite times of the year. I can't wait to finally take my baby girl for a walk outside and not have to worry about her poor little self sweating in her stroller. There's nothing like having something cinnamon scented baking when the weather is cool. This coffee cake was delicious, if you're craving some Fall goodies, bake this up ASAP! :)

Ingredients (cake):
3 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1 1/2 Cups Granulated Sugar
1/2 Cup Vegetable Shortening
2 Eggs
1 Cup Milk
4 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon Salt

Ingredients (topping):
1 Stick Butter
1 1/8 Cups Flour
1/2 + 1/4 Tablespoons Cinnamon
1/2 + 3 1/8's Cup Brown Sugar
1 Tablespoon Vanilla

Directions:
Cream thoroughly the sugar, shortening, and egg. Stir in milk. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt and stir into wet mixture. Pour the batter into a greased pan. Combine ingredients for the filling and sprinkle the mixture over the batter. Bake in a pre-heated 375 degree oven for 30-35 minutes.
